Subject: | Drone Co-Sponsorship |
In the near future, I will introduce legislation that amends Title 34 (Game) to prohibit the use of aerial drones for viewing or hunting wildlife during any big game season. Drones are now available for purchase from many sources, including some that market directly to the hunting community. The use of these devices in the field can range from passive viewing to actively harassing of game to provoke and direct their movement. This new and affordable technology raises ethical questions for hunters and, in my opinion, violates the tenet of fair chase upon which our state’s hunting regulations and traditions are based. With all that in mind, my bill will ban the use of this equipment to view or hunt wildlife during any big game season. |
