Subject: | A Resolution condemning recent acts by Islamic Mililtants in Nigeria |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution condemning recent acts by Islamic militants in Nigeria. As you may be aware, these militants kidnapped more than 300 teen girls from a government-sponsored school in a Nigerian village because they believe that any form of Western-style education is sinful. This outrage action has attracted attention from human rights supporters around the world. My resolution will condemn the kidnapping and call on the U.S. government to take action to help secure the safe release of the victims. The resolution will also call for the United Nations and other relevant international bodies to press for a resolution to this troubling situation. Please join me in supporting this resolution and standing up for human rights. Should you desire more information on the issue, I have attached various news articles for your review. |
