Subject: LEGISLATION –MEMORIAL BRIDGE DEDICATION FOR PRIVATE FIRST CLASS STEVE L. KLOSZ

In the very near future I plan to introduce legislation designating a bridge on a portion of State Route 3047 over the southern branch of Blacklick Creek, Blacklick Township, Cambria County as the Private First Class Steve L. Klosz Memorial Bridge.

Private First Class (PFC) Steve L. Klosz was originally born in Cleveland Ohio November 29, 1915 and shortly thereafter his family moved to Twin Rocks, Blacklick Township. PFC Klosz was drafted into the United States Army in July 1942, during World War II and following basic training served with the 191st Tank Battalion.

Beginning on September 9, 1943 the 191st Tank Battalion engaged in Operation Avalanche in an attempt to secure the beaches of Salerno Italy. On September 11, 1943, PFC Klosz was killed in action.

PFC Klosz was awarded the Purple Heart, the American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Furthermore the Twin Rocks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7605 is dedicated in memory of PFC Klosz.

Please join me in honoring PFC Klosz by cosponsoring this Memorial Bridge Dedication legislation. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
