Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2021 - 2022 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 21, 2021 11:53 AM
From: Senator Mario M. Scavello and Sen. Patrick M. Browne
To: All Senate members
Subject: “Pennsylvania March” as the Official March of Pennsylvania

In the near future we intend to introduce legislation providing for the “Pennsylvania March” to be named as the official March of Pennsylvania.

The “Pennsylvania March”, composed by Mr. Ronald DeGrandis of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is the first March ever composed for the state of Pennsylvania.  It was débuted by The Marine Band of Allentown under the direction of Tom Heinick on September 16, 2018.

Mr. DeGrandis has been honored by Governor Wolf, the City of Allentown and the United States Senate for his work in composing the “Pennsylvania March” and congratulating him on its debut.

As you know, Pennsylvania has a rich history of talented and remarkable musicians, and the composer Ron DeGrandis continues that proud tradition with his composition of the “Pennsylvania March.”

Please feel free to click on the following link for additional information on the composer Mr. Ron DeGrandis and to listen to the “Pennsylvania March.” https://www.rondegrandismusic.com/pa-march

Please join me in designating the “Pennsylvania March” as the official March of Pennsylvania.

If you have any questions regarding this legislation, please contact Christine Zubeck in my office at 717-787-6123 or czubeck@pasen.gov.  Thank you for your consideration.
