Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2021 - 2022 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 18, 2022 10:12 AM
From: Senator Mario M. Scavello
To: All Senate members
Subject: Resolution Urging Congress and President to Enforce Immigration Laws

In the very near future, I intend to offer a resolution urging the President and the Congress of the United States to enforce the Immigration laws of this great land.

Over the last year, America’s immigration and border controls have become non-existent due to failed policy, ignorance of the rule of law, and ineffective leadership from Washington.  We face a national crisis at the Border and this has led to great financial strain in our communities.

Illegal immigration has led to higher crime rates, contributed to overcrowded classrooms and failing schools due to increased costs to school districts, subjected our hospitals to fiscal hardship and legal residents to substandard quality of care, and diminished overall quality of life for many financially challenged communities across Pennsylvania.

Many of these concerns could be addressed by following the immigration laws that we already have in place.  Therefore, please join me in urging the President and the Congress of the United States to secure our borders and enforce the rule of law.

If you have any questions, please contact Christine Zubeck in my office at 717-787-6123 or czubeck@pasen.gov.  Thank you for your consideration.
