Subject: | Co-Sponsorship: Fallen EMS Memorial Flag |
In the near future and at the request of the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council, I plan to introduce legislation to provide, on behalf of our Commonwealth citizens, an EMS Memorial Flag to honor emergency medical services personnel who have died in the line of duty. I believe that these acts of courage and sacrifice deserve to be recognized by this Commonwealth and that it is long overdue. As citizens, we benefit daily from the commitment and dedication of these individuals who devote their lives to saving the lives of others and who perform extraordinary public service and at times under extreme conditions. By developing this memorial flag for our EMS personnel, we will help them to have something that their fellow firefighters have had since 1990, known as the “Firefighters Memorial Flag.” Please join me in honoring and remembering our civilian EMS personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives in the line of duty by cosponsoring this legislation and helping me to give our EMS heroes this deserved and earned memorial flag. |
