Subject: | A RESOLUTION recognizing the month of February 2013 as Black History Month |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating February 2013 as Black History Month in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This year’s theme is “At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: The Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington.” In 2013, we celebrate two important milestones in the history of African-Americans with the sesquicentennial of the Emancipation Proclamation (1863) and the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have A Dream Speech” (1963). If you have any questions regarding this resolution, please contact Germaine Brown in my Harrisburg Office at 717-783-4090 or via email at gbrown@pahouse.net. |
