Subject:	Small Games of Chance Legislation

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that amend the Small Games of Chance Act to rectify a variety of issues that my clubs and organizations have brought to my attention.

As you know, since the passage of Act 2 of 2012 which amended the Small Games Act many organizations have been outspoken regarding the prize limits, the proceeds split and the restrictions on the use of their proceeds. My legislation will alleviate these problems.

Under my legislation, the Small Games Act will be amended to:

Increase the single chance prize from $500 to $1000;
Increase the weekly limit from $25,000 to $35,000;
Increase the raffle limit from $10,000 to $25,000;
Change the split of proceeds for club licensee from the current 70 percent to public interest purposes and 30 percent for general operating expenses of the club to 40 percent to public interest purposes and 60 percent for operating expenses;
Permit clubs to use their proceeds on food purchases.
