Subject: Enforcement Officer Disability Benefits Law
 
Description: An Act amending the act of June 28, 1935 (P.L.477, No. 193) referred to as the Enforcement Officer Disability Benefits Law. This legislation would allow any enforcement officer or investigator of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission or Pennsylvania Game Commission, who has been injured or exposed to certain diseases in the performance of their job duties, to be awarded payment of their salaries, as well as medical and hospital expenses, without the reduction of their usual sick leave period. Any payments made to an enforcement officer or investigator of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and Pennsylvania Game Commission will be made from the appropriations of their respective employers. This act shall take effect in 60 days.

Purpose: To provide Heart and Lung Act coverage to any enforcement officer or investigator employed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission or Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. An enforcement officer or investigator of the Pennsylvania Game Commission or Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission that was injured or contracted specific diseases in the performance of job duties would be awarded payments of salary, as well as medical and hospital expenses, while not having a reduction in any of their usual sick leave period.
