Subject: CSM: Exempting gun safes from sales tax
 
I believe it is important to promote the voluntary safe storage of firearms. In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to exempt gun safes, locking gun cases and other firearm locking devices from the Commonwealth's sales tax. By providing this exemption, we can encourage the voluntary acquisition and use of storage devices as well as encourage people to upgrade to better methods of gun storage.
