Subject: Daffodil Days Awareness Week – March 18 - 24, 2013
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designating March 18 through 24, 2013, as Daffodil Days Awareness week and congratulating the American Cancer Society for its commitment to research and public service.

In 2013, an estimated 79,560 people will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in Pennsylvania. However, in large part because of the efforts of the American Cancer Society, the survival rates for men and women are increasing.

Daffodil Days is one of the American Cancer Society’s longest running and most successful fundraisers. This year’s campaign in Pennsylvania is expected to raise over $4 million to support research and other efforts to eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease.


Introduced as HR126
