Subject: Chimney Reliner - former HB 2339
 
I have been asked to reintroduce former HB 2339 - require chimney reliners to be certified by the Department of Labor and Industry.

Chimney relining is the process of replacing the inner wall of a chimney flue. To protect public safety it is necessary to ensure that chimney reliners have the necessary competence to perform this function. My legislation would require the Department of Labor and Industry to establish a certification program similar to those currently required for asbestos and lead paint workers.
