Subject: 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ALLIANCE OF APPROVED PRIVATE SCHOOLS
 

In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution on the above referenced Approved Private Schools.

Approved private schools serve students with the most severe disabilities who, due to the nature and complexity of their disabilities, cannot be appropriately served in public school special education programs.

Approved private schools commit a substantial amount of private funds, resources, and technical assistance in support of children with special needs within the Commonwealth.

It would be cost prohibitive for public schools to provide the unique special education services offered by approved private schools.
