Subject: Resolution Designating the Month of March as "Multiple Myeloma Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designating the month of March 2013 as “Multiple Myeloma Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania.

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. It is the second most common blood cancer in the world and can occur in multiple locations in the body.

In the United States, 20,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. More than 100,000 Americans are currently affected by this disease, and 10,000 lose their battle against multiple myeloma every year.

Please join me in supporting those affected by this terrible disease by designating March 2013 as “Multiple Myeloma Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania.
