Subject: Men’s Health Awareness Day
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution to recognize April 16, 2013 as “Men’s Health Awareness Day.” This resolution is to bring recognition to the problems faced by men, educate the public about the importance of healthy lifestyles and preventative treatment; and promote early detection of many male health problems which contribute to premature death in men from disease or illness.

Moreover, everyone is affected by this health crisis as they have lost a father, husband, son, brother, or male friend from disease or illness which could have been treated if caught at an early stage. In fact 17% of woman in Pennsylvania will be widows by age 69 due to the premature death of their husbands.

I would welcome your partnership in advancing this resolution.
