Subject: Proclaming April as "Welding Month"
 
I am introducing a non-controversial resolution recognizing April as “welding month” in the Commonwealth. I was approached by the American Welding Society asking that the General Assembly bring awareness to welders and the vital role they play in the development of our society and culture.

Welding has greatly advanced over the last several decades. Welders use precise strength and experienced skill accuracy to develop and maintain vital elements we use daily, such as bridges, ships, vehicles, aircraft, spaceships, pipeline installation and military equipment. Welding can be done underwater and even in outer space.

I encourage you to add your name as a cosponsor to this resolution, recognizing the individuals and the skillful techniques they use in the profession of welding.
