Subject: Resolution Recognizing 10th Anniversary of Independence Blue Cross Nurse Scholars Program
 
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing the 10th Anniversary of the Independence Blue Cross Nurse Scholars Program.

Recognizing the vital role that nurses play in the medical community, IBC created this program to help reduce the nursing shortage in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, particularly in the southeastern region. During the past 10 years, more than 1,300 scholarships were awarded to undergraduate nursing students at 31 accredited nursing programs in Southeast Pennsylvania and more than 1,500 scholarships were awarded to Master and Doctorate level students
