Subject: Designating October 15, 2013 as White Cane Safety Day and the month of October as Blindness Awareness Month
 
When we return to Session in September, I plan to introduce a resolution that will recognized October 15, 2013 as "White Cane Safety Day" and the month of October 2013 as "Blindness Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania.

Since 1910, the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) has worked to ensure that if you or someone you know experiences vision loss, they would be there! The PAB has grown and evolved to be an organization with 29 agencies throughout Pennsylvania, all committed to the latest technology, education, literacy, and independence for people who are blind.

I appreciate your cosponsorship to this Resolution.
