Subject: | Condolence Resolution for US Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jarett Michael Yoder |
Representative Maloney and I plan to introduce the attached Condolence Resolution for US Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jarett Michael Yoder who resided in Mohnton with his wife, Heather, paying tribute to his ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. He was killed when the AH-64 Apache helicopter he was co-piloting crashed on April 9, 2013, during a reconnaissance mission. In 2005, CW2 Yoder joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and was currently serving with Company B, 1-104th Aviation Regiment, 28th Combat Aviation Brigade, 28th Infantry Division, based out of Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. He was serving in his second deployment, having previously been deployed in 2008 to Iraq with the Kutztown-based Company C, 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry, 56th Stryker Brigade of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He had previously been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Driver and Mechanic Badge, and was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, and NATO Medal.
