MEMORANDUM

To: All House members
Subject: Resolution Commemorating the 270th Anniversary of the Augustus Lutheran Church Building

In the near future, I will introduce a resolution commemorating the 270th Anniversary of the Augustus Lutheran Church Building.

Built in 1743and dedicated in 1746, the Augustus Lutheran Church Building, originally called the Old Trappe Church, was built using native stone and materials gathered by hand. The church is located in Montgomery County, along the trail of the Perkiomen Creek.

One of the oldest buildings in Pennsylvania, the Augustus Lutheran Church Building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service on December 24th, 1967.
Today, the Augustus Lutheran Church Building continues to serve as the setting for weddings, funerals, Christmas Eve services and worship throughout the summer.

The Augustus Lutheran Church Building stands today as a testament to the hard work and dedication of its congregation. Please join me in commemorating this important milestone.
