Subject: | Legislation to amend the Liquor Code |
Please find attached legislation that I plan to introduce in the near future to amend the Liquor Code. My legislation would allow minors to perform music in a licensed establishment so long as the minor is not compensated and is supervised by a parent or guardian. The Liquor Code already allows minors who are students receiving instruction in a performing art to perform in a licensed establishment so long as they are not compensated and they are under the proper supervision. I would like to expand this ability to perform in licensed establishments because I have a very accomplished musician in my district who is a minor but does not perform as a member of a school group but as an individual. This young man, with the consent and supervision of his parents, would like to gain more experience in performing his music by doing so in licensed establishments. My legislation will allow him and others like him to continue to grow their talents. Thank you in advance for consideration of my legislation. |
