MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 18, 2014 11:38 AM
From: Representative Nick Miccarelli
To: All House members
Subject: Re-Introduction of Airport Fee Legislation (Formerly HB2336)

In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation regarding rental vehicle fees at airports. Specifically, I am going to introduce a bill that requires any fees imposed on rental vehicle companies or transactions by airports or airport authorities be associated with rental facility improvements and/or rental facility operations and maintenance. In addition, the legislation will require that the fee end once the debt for the associated project has been paid.
Currently, airports and/or airport authorities are able to impose fees on rental vehicle transactions without any tie to a specific project. This is problematic and unfair to rental vehicle customers. My bill will ensure that fees imposed on rental vehicle customers are associated with projects related to rental vehicle customers.

This legislation was previously introduced in the 2011-2012 legislative session as HB2336. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
