Subject: | Resolution honoring A+ Schools, Pittsburgh’s Community Alliance for Public Education |
**PLEASE NOTE THIS WILL BE INTRODUCED TOMORROW** In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing A+ Schools, Pittsburgh’s Community Alliance for Public Education, for 10 years of advocacy for equity and excellence in Pittsburgh’s public schools. A+ Schools is a non-profit education advocacy organization that acts as a voice for better educational outcomes for children. Since 2004, they have proudly worked on behalf of students, so they receive a quality education that prepares them for success in college, career and life. Specifically, they focus on creating a classroom environment that promotes overall student achievement as well as policies and practices that increase opportunities and resources for low-income and minority students. The organization shares the community’s concerns about the importance of ensuring the quality of education and equity in Pittsburgh Public Schools. They serve as a resource and catalyst for change, collecting and distributing critical information and providing specific ways for the community to help make our schools great. As you can see, A+ Schools is a valuable voice for our most important asset – our children. Thank you in advance for your support. I hope you will join me in recognizing A+ Schools for their dedication to Pittsburgh’s students, parents, teachers and communities. |
