Session of 2013 - 2014 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 8, 2014 02:33 PM
From: Representative Eli Evankovich
To: All House members
Subject: Registered Lobbyist Ban

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to prohibit any person who has served prison time or been convicted of a felony from being able to become a registered lobbyist. The prohibition would stipulate that the offense be related to a crime committed while serving in a capacity as a public servant (elected, appointed, or employed.) For too long, decisions in government have eroded the trust of the voters and this simple measure would help to restore confidence in government.

Introduced as HB2488
