MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 11, 2014 11:05 AM
From: Representative Rick Mirabito
To: All House members
Subject: American Jobs Legislation

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to deal with foreign-made steel that is being used in the Marcellus Shale. This legislation’s number one purpose is to help promote and protect American jobs. Specifically, my legislation will require that gas well casings be made with steel manufactured in the United States. This requirement will help our manufacturers create American jobs which is critical, especially in the current job climate.

As many of my constituents have seen firsthand, the Loyalsock Creek Railroad Bridge that was rebuilt is basically made from all United States steel. If we can use all American made steel to replace and fix our local railroad bridges, we surely can use all American steel for our local gas well casings and any other safety devices.

I hope you will consider co-sponsoring this piece of legislation to help protect American jobs.

Introduced as HB2484
