Subject: Resolution designating October 19-25 as “National Chemistry Week” in Pennsylvania.
 
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating October 19-25 as “National Chemistry Week” in Pennsylvania.

This community based program unites ACS (American Chemical Society) with businesses, schools and individuals in communicating the importance of chemistry to our quality of life. More than 96% of all manufactured goods are directly touched by chemistry, making chemistry an essential part of every facet of this nation's economy. The mission of “National Chemistry Week” is to reach the public, particularly elementary and secondary school children, with positive messages about chemistry to: make a positive change in the publics’ impression of chemistry; promote a mechanism for effectively mobilizing ACS local sections.
