Subject: | Safe Drinking Water Act |
Every day our families drink tap water trusting that the water they drink will be clean and safe. Sadly far too often we are drinking water that contains toxins that is detrimental to our health. The very water that gives us life can also be filled with Carcinogens that make our communities sick. That is why I am introducing a bill that will direct the Environmental Quality Board to establish state-level maximum levels for likely carcinogens in our drinking water. In addition to establishing maximum levels this legislation will direct the board to set limits in our water when two or more states have set maximum containment levels or limits on these pollutants. Pennsylvania’s drinking water needs to be at least as safe as other states. It is our duty as legislators to maintain public safety. Nothing is as important as ensuring our drinking water is safe to drink. Please join me in the fight to protect our drinking water by cosponsoring this important legislation. |
Introduced as HB2128
