Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2023 - 2024 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 5, 2022 10:17 AM
From: Senator Doug Mastriano
To: All Senate members
Subject: Adding the Navy Club as a member of the State Veterans Commission

In the near future, I intend to introduce a bill that would allow the Pennsylvania Squadron of the Navy Club of the United States full membership on the State Veterans Commission.

The Commission meets regularly and has the important role of considering and supporting pending legislation at the federal and state levels that is of interest to veterans.

The Commission currently consists of 15 veteran organizations: American Legion, AMVETS, Blinded Veterans Association, Catholic War Veterans of the United States of America, Disabled American Veterans, Jewish War Veterans of the United States, Marine Corps League, Military Officers Association of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart, State Association of County Directors of Veterans' Affairs, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Italian American War Veterans of the United States, The Vietnam Veterans of America, Keystone Paralyzed Veterans Association, and The Korean War Veterans Association.

The Navy Club will provide a unique perspective on the Commission and represent the voice of those who served in the US Navy, US Marine Corps, or U.S Coast Guard.

A previous version of this legislation last session passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 202-0.
