| Subject: | Resolution Honoring the 20th Anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom |
| In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution honoring the 20th anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As you may know, March of 2023 will mark the 20th anniversary of the commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where United States and coalition forces began the mission to liberate Iraq from dictator Saddam Hussein and extend freedom and democracy throughout the region. Additionally, thousands of Pennsylvania military servicemen and women have sacrificed so much to honorably serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 20th anniversary reminds citizens of our Commonwealth of all those who have served their missions with excellence, determination, patriotism, and bravery. As the beneficiaries of the courage of these brave men and women who have sacrificed so much, sometimes making the ultimate sacrifice, it is important we express our appreciation and gratitude for their honorable and courageous acts. In doing so, Pennsylvania should honor the 20th anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution which will be introduced March 8th. |
