Subject: JROTC Day (April 19)
 
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution to recognize April 19, 2016 as 'Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and National Defense Corps of Cadets Day' in Pennsylvania.  
 
JROTC and NDCC have been in existence for over 100 years – providing high school students with leadership, character building and diverse skills.  High school students enrolled in JROTC and NDCC learn from retired military personnel who combine the core curriculum with military-style training to maintain the professionalism and success of the programs.  Currently in the United States there are approximately 314,000 JROTC Cadets – with 26 JROTC programs in Pennsylvania high schools.
