Subject: Condolence Resolution Honoring Trooper Jacques F. Rougeau Jr.
 
I plan to introduce a condolence resolution celebrating the life and honoring the memory of Trooper Jacques F. Rougeau Jr., who gave his life in the line of duty on June 17, 2023.  

 

Trooper Rougeau graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 2021 and was originally stationed with Troop J in York. In 2023, Trooper Rougeau joined Troop G in Lewistown. He was active in his community, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and an avid Penn State football fan.  

 

On June 17, 2023, Trooper Rougeau was tragically shot and killed by a suspect during an incident involving PSP Troop G, Lewistown Station. Trooper Rougeau faithfully endeavored to preserve and protect the health, safety and welfare of his fellow citizens and gave the ultimate sacrifice in the furtherance of these goals.  

 

Please join me in sending our condolences to his family through this resolution.
