Subject: | Legislation Designating the Ten Mile Creek Bridge in Greene and Washington Counties as the Lieutenant General William M. Keys Bridge |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation designating the new bridge carrying State Route 88 over Ten Mile Creek, which connects Greene and Washington Counties, the Lieutenant General William M. Keys Bridge. Lieutenant General William M. Keys was born in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1960. General Keys served as company commander with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment during the Vietnam Conflict where he led units against the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong forces. In addition, General Keys served as Commanding General of the 2nd Marine Division during Desert Storm. General Keys retired from the United States Marine Corps on September 1, 1994 after 34 years of service, and has been awarded the Navy Cross and Silver Star among other high metals and honors. Please join me in supporting this legislation. |
