| Subject: | School Pension Liability Assistance Act |
| In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation creating the School Pension Liability Assistance Act to provide school districts relief from burdensome pension costs. This bill will create the School Pension Liability Assistance Fund, a restricted Treasury account, to be used only for the purpose of providing school districts assistance with their pension liabilities. Distributions to each school district will be calculated based on the total pension liability and the local taxing effort in the district. Local taxing effort is defined in the bill as a rate based on a school district's combined real estate property tax rate and other local taxes. Any school district with a pension liability after June 30, 2013 will be eligible to receive a distribution. If you wish to cosponsor this legislation, please click on the link below.
