Subject: | Co-Sponsorship of Legislation – Private John W. Mostoller Bridge |
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to honor Private John W. Mostoller. My legislation will designate the bridge carrying State Route 1008, known as Pompey Hill Road, over the Stonycreek River in Quemahoning and Stonycreek Townships, Somerset County as the Private John W. Mostoller Bridge. Private John W. Mostoller was a native of Somerset County and enlisted in the Union Army after graduating from high school. He served from 1861 to 1864 in Company B, Fifty-fourth Regiment of Pennsylvania Infantry Volunteers. Private Mostoller received a Congressional Medal of Honor on November 27, 1894, for distinguished service at the Battle of Lynchburg, Virginia. Please join me in sponsoring this piece of legislation. Thank you for your consideration. |
