Subject: | Resolution honoring the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution honoring the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity during its Conclave 2013 celebration in Philadelphia from July 9 to 14, 2013. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on January 9, 1914, by three young African-American male students and emphasizes the ideals of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. The Fraternity’s motto is “Culture For Service and Service For Humanity” and today a membership of over 150,000 college-educated men, operating in 675 chapters around the globe, are a part of this international organization. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity will be holding its 71st Conclave in Philadelphia from July 9 to 14, 2013, with the theme “POWER UP! Marching Towards the Jubilee.” The Conclave is a week-long conference for the purpose of electing an administrative body and holding concerts, seminars, and other social events for delegates from the seven regions of the fraternity. As a proud member of this fraternal organization, I am asking for your support for my resolution to formally honor Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity during Conclave 2013. |
