Subject: | RESOLUTION HONORING THE CHIEF CORNPLANTER COUNCIL OF THE BOY SCOUTS ON ITS 100TH ANNIVERSARY |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution honoring the Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts of America on the occasion of its 100th anniversary and, having existed for 100 years, is the oldest continuously existing council in the Boy Scouts of America. The Boy Scouts of America was founded by Chicago publisher William Boyce on February 8, 1910; and in 1913, the Warren County Council of the Boy Scouts of America was established in the City of Warren. In 1954, the official name of the Warren County Council was changed to the Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts of America to honor the famous Seneca Iroquois Indian. Thank you for your consideration of this proposed resolution. |
