Subject: | Resolution proclaiming September 15 through October 15, 2013 as "Hispanic Heritage Month" |
In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution proclaiming September 15 through October 15, 2013 as "Hispanic Heritage Month" in Pennsylvania. To honor the achievements of Hispanic Americans, Congress requested that the President annually issue a proclamation designating September 15 through October 15 as "National Hispanic Heritage Month". This resolution encourages Pennsylvanians to celebrate the value of our diversity and the rich Hispanic culture which makes our Commonwealth great. Latinos are the largest minority ethnic group in the United States today, with more than 810,000 residing in Pennsylvania. Hispanic Americans have shown their devotion to this country and have made valuable contributions through business, industry, politics, education, sciences, sports and the arts. Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to honor Hispanic Americans and acknowledge the incredible contributions they have made to this Commonwealth. Thank you in advance for your consideration. |
