Subject: | Resolution designating October 22, 2013 as “Kappa Alpha Psi Day” in Pennsylvania. |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a Resolution designating October 22, 2013 as “Kappa Alpha Psi Day” in Pennsylvania. As many of you may know, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was founded on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana on January 15, 1911. Originally known as Kappa Alpha Nu, the name change took place in 1915. The motto of Kappa Alpha Psi is “Achievement in every field of human behavior” and in keeping with this motto, Kappa Alpha Psi has consistently advanced the ideas of its 10 founding members with achievers in the fields of science, arts, education, sports, entertainment, and politics. Headquartered in the great City of Philadelphia, and with over 600 graduate and undergraduate chapters, Kappa Alpha Psi operates a multitude of programs ranging from youth mentoring and college preparation to senior support services. As a member of Kappa Alpha Psi for over 34 years, I am proud to offer this Resolution and personally welcome each of you to join me by co-sponsoring. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my office at 717-787-3181. |
