Subject: | Resolution: Honoring LIVE for their contributions to the arts and the Commonwealth |
I will soon introduce a resolution honoring the accomplishments of the band LIVE, recipients of this year's Governor's Award for the Arts for Arts Innovation. Formed in York, LIVE is best remembered for their multi-million selling 1994 album Throwing Copper and being named Artist of the Year by Rolling Stone magazine that year. While continuing to perform to audiences nationwide, founding band members Patrick Dahlheimer, Chad Gracey and Chad Taylor founded Think Loud Development and United Fiber and Data, technology companies which have brought more than $50 million in investment to Pennsylvania communities including Allentown, Reading and York. I ask you to join me in honoring these Pennsylvanians on their selection for the Governor's Award and their impressive accomplishments in both music and business. |
