Subject: | Co-Sponsorship of Resolution Honoring Honorable Judge Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution honoring the Honorable Judge Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde, in recognition of her extraordinary milestone of being selected as the first woman boxer admitted in the Pennsylvania Boxing Hall of Fame. As many of you may be aware, Judge Frazier-Lyde is the daughter of boxing legend Smokin’ Joe Frazier and sibling of Marvis Frazier, both of whom are also enshrined in boxing’s Hall of Fame. Prior to her donning a judicial robe, Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde wore a boxing robe and amassed three championships in three different weight classes (the WIBF Intercontinental Super Middleweight title, the Global Boxing Union 168lb title, and the UBA World Heavyweight title) during her stellar career. In 2001, during her most celebrated boxing match known as "March to Destiny,” Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde faced off against the progeny of another boxing great, Laila Ali, the daughter of Muhammad Ali. With an overall boxing record of 13 wins, 9 knockouts, 1 loss and 1 draw, Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde is recognized as one of the greatest women boxers in history. Therefore, I wish to take this opportunity to urge my colleagues to please join me in honoring this pivotal milestone achieved by the Honorable Judge Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde by co-sponsoring this resolution.
