Subject: | Resolution Recognizing the Efforts of Those who Contributed to Pennsylvanians’ Safety During the Winter of 2013-2014 |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing local, county and state road crews, polices departments, emergency responders, public utility workers, the Pennsylvania National Guard, and employees of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Association and PennDOT for their contributions to the safety of Pennsylvanians during the winter of 2013-2014 As you are probably aware, the winter of late 2013 and early 2014 was one of the coldest winters on record and brought several feet of precipitation to regions in Pennsylvania over the span of the season. The snow and ice storms that occurred throughout the winter spurred hundreds of vehicle accidents, left hundreds of thousands of customers without power and caused countless fallen trees and limbs across the Commonwealth. Without the invaluable preparedness and efforts of the men and women who braved the weather to make everything safer for others, Pennsylvanians may have faced even more severe hardships during this incredibly brutal winter. Please join me in commending these groups of individuals by co-sponsoring this resolution. |
