Subject: Resolution designating the week of June 2 through 8, 2014, as "Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association Awareness Week"
 

In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating the week of June 2 through 8, 2014, as "Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association Awareness Week" in Pennsylvania.

Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) is a progressive disorder, which slowly damages the nerve cells leading to a patient’s extremities. There is no way to predict how far or how fast the disease will progress, and the severity varies widely from patient to patient. Some are able to go about their lives with only moderate difficulty, while others require greater assistance.

The Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) has educated and served Pennsylvania for more than 25 years and is leading the charge for educational programs dedicated to training doctors at medical colleges to identify and treat CMT symptoms.

Please join me in supporting this resolution to bring awareness of CMT in Pennsylvania along with the CMTA in their dedication to train doctors at medical colleges.
