Subject: Establishing the Pennsylvania Long-Term Care Council
 
Shortly, I plan to introduce a companion bill to House Bill 252 (Representative Swanger) to establish the Pennsylvania Long-Term Care Council, which would be empowered to:
  • Consult with various departments and agencies to make recommendations on regulations, licensure, financing, and other responsibilities relating to long-term care and other duties the Governor may assign relating to long-term care;
  • Develop and adopt rules for council meetings and committees (including the number and responsibilities of committees and the procedures for formally approving reports to the public and/or General Assembly), and;
  • Determine research and study topics the council and its committees will undertake.
