Subject: | Increase of Veteran-owned Business participation |
In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation that would amend Act 185 of 2012; of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for contracting with veteran-owned small businesses. - A newly created Service Disabled Veteran Division, which aids and monitors the agencies and the SDVOBs that they follow policy and procedure. -Similar to NY, a SDVOB can open a business in PA even though they are a resident of another state. We feel that these changes will help improve the assistance of our Service-disabled Veteran Owned businesses in the Commonwealth. Ultimately, I am looking to improve upon Act 185, not alter it. I am hoping for a greater participation rate and feel that these changes will help accomplish that. We must never forget the sacrifices that our veterans have made in service to our country. With this legislation, we are helping them by creating economic opportunities for veterans’ to thrive here in Pennsylvania. |
