MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 10, 2015 12:43 PM
From: Representative Tim Briggs
To: All House members
Subject: Condolence Resolution: William F. Ross

In the near future, I plan to introduce a condolence resolution that honors the life and public service contributions of William F. Ross, who passed away January 29, 2015, at the age of 92.

Bill Ross, a World War II veteran from my district, served with distinction in the United States Army in the Battle of the Bulge, Central Europe and Rhineland campaigns. But he made his mark in Pennsylvania as an Upper Merion Township Supervisor, a former Montgomery County Democratic Party chairman and member of the Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority.

In addition to helping guide the redevelopment of Montgomery County, Mr. Ross was also an entrepreneur. He is fondly remembered as the longtime owner of the National Paint Center. In his later days, he worked as a real estate agent. Bill Ross was devoted to the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and was president of the L.A.M.-Valley Forge Lodge 1776 Sons of Italy.

Mr. Ross, who passed away with his loving wife Dorothy and other family members by his side, deserves our recognition as a veteran, a public servant, a church member and community leader.

Please join me in honoring the life and public service contributions of Mr. William F. Ross, as well as extending our condolences to his family and friends.
