Subject: | Resolution Honoring 140 Years of Jenkintown Borough |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution honoring the Borough of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania on the occasion of their 140th anniversary. The Borough of Jenkintown, located just outside of Philadelphia along the Route 611 corridor, is one of the oldest boroughs in Montgomery County. Founded in 1697 by settler William Jenkin, Jenkintown was incorporated as a Borough in 1874. This truly unique, walkable community allows residents to walk to stores, the local Post Office and places of worship. The town is also proud of their exceptional public schools strategically located so that children may walk to school in addition to the playground and nearby friends and family. Jenkintown is unique in this way and its residents work hard to preserve its small town ideals. Please join me in honoring this historic Borough. Thank you for your consideration. |
