MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 9, 2015 04:06 PM
From: Representative Mark B. Cohen
To: All House members
Subject: National Small Business Weekend in Pennsylvania

I plan to introduce a resolution in the near future naming the first consecutive Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each month during 2015 as National Small Business Weekend in Pennsylvania.

I introduced this measure in 2014 as HR653 at the request of the National Small Business Weekend Association, whose mission is to bring recognition to the importance of supporting small businesses. The resolution was adopted March 18th by unanimous vote of the members. Small businesses are the backbone of the Pennsylvanian economy. Sixty million Americans, who live and work in our neighborhoods, are employed by small businesses.

As you know, I am a strong supporter of initiatives encouraging people to buy American-made products. This resolution promotes the philosophy of buying local, buying American, and encourages businesses to offer more American made products. It is only by bringing family-sustaining jobs back home that we will strengthen our overall economy.

If you have any questions about this resolution, please contact Kathy Seidl of my office at 787-4117 or kseidl@pahouse.net.

Thank you.

Introduced as HR279
