Subject: | Resolution Recognizing May 2015 as “Building Safety Month” in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution to recognize May 2015 as “Building Safety Month” in Pennsylvania. For the past 35 years, Members of the International Code Council have continued the “Building Safety Month” campaign, recognizing advancements made in the safe construction of buildings and homes worldwide. Corporations, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and others, comprise the more than 57,000 members who work with professionals from the building construction, design and safety community, to improve and promote public safety awareness. The goal of this month-long celebration is to assist families, employers, and leaders in understanding the development of practices keeping their communities safe. This year’s theme, Resilient Communities Start with Building Codes, highlights several areas of building safety, including energy efficiency, fire safety, responses to natural disasters, and water education. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution. A copy of the resolution is attached. |
