Subject: | Repeal 1943 act authorizing the Commonwealth to Adopt County Roads at the Resolution of County Commissioners |
In the near future, I will introduce legislation which repeals a redundant law from May 28, 1943 (former HB 2366 of 2013-2014). The current law allows county highways, at the resolution of the county commissioners, to become a state road. The construction and repair of the adopted road is maintained at the expense of the Commonwealth. This law, however, only applies to county roads constructed before May 28, 1943 and does not apply to any bridges or viaducts. This entire provision of the law would be repealed under this legislation because it is redundant to the State Highway Law, an act of 1945. Please join me in sponsoring this legislation to clear up this redundancy. Thank you for your consideration. |
Introduced as HB1202
