Subject: | RESOLUTION - DESIGNATING MAY 4, 2015 AS "CROSSING GUARD APPRECIATION DAY" IN PENNSYLVANIA |
In the near future, I intend to introduce a resolution recognizing Monday, May 4, 2015 as the observance of “Crossing Guard Appreciation Day" in Pennsylvania. Specifically, the premise behind this observance is to recognize and convey our collective gratitude to all of the crossing guards in the Commonwealth who dedicate their time and energy to helping to provide students with safer walking and bicycling pathways to and from school. This resolution will also highlight the importance of the Pennsylvania Safe Routes to School Program, which both has and continues to serve as an essential component in providing safe walkways and pathways for students. Therefore, I ask that you please join me in recognizing Monday, May 4 2015 as "Crossing Guard Appreciation Day"” in Pennsylvania. If you should have any questions or concerns regarding this legislation, please contact Dawn Coleman in my office at (717) 772-6955 or dcoleman@pahouse.net. |
